Kaiya Howard: Cranial Prosthesis Specialist Webster, Texas

Back in 2020 the height of Covid, I created my business The Lavish Luxe Collection. At the time I was in college and they had sent us home for protocol and being home not being able to do anything that was the perfect time to see what I really wanted to do with my life.

Being that I was in isolation for months my perspective begin to change and opened my eyes for my love of hair and doing hair. That was the perfect time to start my business in something I really had a love for. I first began with selling hair to family and really getting a gist of the different origins of hair out there.

I was immediately drawn to raw hair, I loved how thick it was, that's the hair that I was buying from everyone else so I said why not. Selling hair was going really well for me but I wanted more for my business.

I truly wanted to see my purpose shine through my business and just selling hair wasn't going to do for me. During my sophomore year of college I was hand sewing wigs for myself and I just got tired of it so I taught myself how to make a wig on the sewing machine and it didn't take me long to figure it out.

Once I did, I fell in love with wig making and seeing how I could enhance my clients beauty and their excitement for wigs id make for them. That quickly prompted me to wanting to become a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist.

Giving this business a better purpose and really being able to impact someone's life with something that may seem so small but truly is big to them. I can't wait for this journey!

What do you enjoy as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist?

I haven't started just yet but from the information that I have gained from this class. I know that I will love the bonds that I will create with them. A better insight of what they are really going through and how to choose the right unit for them. I can't wait to start!

How do you want to help your clients?

I want to be able to give them a space where they feel comfortable and that they can put their full trust in me. I'd like to give them an experience of enhancing their beauty and not focusing so much on their scalp condition so that they don't have to feel insecure. I want them to be able to fully use their benefits that can grant them a unit that fits them best.

Do you also install medical grade wigs?

I currently don't but I would to know the process on how I can.

What do you love about the community you work and live in?

I love how small and close knit it is. My shop is located right next to a dermatology office and down the the street from a cancer center clinic. I'm excited to reach those in my community and can't wait to offer my help.

I can't wait to be introduced to this community and all the new things I will learn along the way. I can't wait to be of service to this community of individuals and helping them get results they have been waiting for!
