Linda Elisca

Linda Elisca has been a licensed hairstylist for over 26 years. She attended Sheridan Vocational Technical school in Hollywood, Florida, where she graduated and obtained a certificate. Linda gained experience while working for local hair salons.

A couple of years later, she went on to open her first hair salon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In early 2000, she moved her hair salon to Dania Beach, Florida. In 2007, the economy turned worse, and she was forced to close the hair salon.

Linda decided to move to the west coast of Florida and took a break from doing hair. Linda decided to go back to school for a much different career. Linda earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix and continued schooling at Barry University in Miami, Florida, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Linda then began her career as a Medical Social Worker working at two different local hospitals. Being a Medical Social Worker in the Emergency Room (ER), she encounters women from different cultures and social economics who are dealing with Domestic Violence and being abused by spouses and significant others.

Although many of the women often suffer from low self-esteem and overall low confidence, they would always smile when Linda complimented women, “you have beautiful hair.” From these many experiences and encounters, she realized being a hairstylist and Social Worker was her calling. Linda decided to volunteer at the Shelter for Abused Women & Children once a week and on special occasions like Mother’s Day.

Linda met some courageous and resilient women and children. This is a quote from one of the survivors, “When my time in the salon chair was up… Let me say that Linda is a master of her trade! I not only looked fantastic, but my posture was different. My walk was different, and my words came out slightly different! I smiled from ear to ear!

She helped me find my SWAG again. I looked good!” This is one of the reasons why Linda decided to return to chair, styling hair, and more. In June 2022, Linda re-opened a hair salon, L’Elite Hair & More Beauty Studio. This salon will be a place for individuals to come and feel comfortable.

The main focus at the salon will be empowerment and uplifting others. Linda will reach out to other hair salons and cosmetology schools in the community to help raise awareness about domestic violence and Human Trafficking. In addition, Linda will continue to provide services and resources to women and children at the local shelters.

At the Salon, we will provide hair care services such as hair styling, cutting, and non-invasive hair extensions, medical wigs, and children's wigs.
