Nicole Trahan: Cranial Prosthesis Specialist Houston, Texas

Nicole Trahan: Cranial Prosthesis Specialist Houston, Texas

I started creating wigs in 2021 after my own cancer diagnosis. I started chemo immediately and lost my hair, It forced me to be resourceful especially since I had been furloughed. I started making wigs for myself and posting photos on Facebook.

My family and friends start sending DMs requesting a wig for purchase. After careful consideration and help from my cousin, I started Treasured Locs and Tips and began selling my units online.

Since then, I have enrolled in various wig training schools to develop more skill in my craft and to offer more services to my clients. I am currently enrolled in Marquetta Breslin's Lace Wig University while also attending the PharmD School of Wigs. You can only improve your skills by investing in programs that increase the opportunities that I will have to offer more products for my business.

This also led me to the Wig Medical course for becoming a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist. I have successfully completed the program and am ready to receive clients/ patients for business.

What do you enjoy as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist?

I enjoy bringing normalcy back to the patients/clients. When they finally get to try on their unit, that glow, that smile, and sometimes the tears of joy are so fulfilling for me as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist.

How do you want to help your clients?

I want to guide my clients in selecting the most suitable cranial prostheses for their medical related hair loss, and provide personalized maintenance instructions for their custom units.

I also want to offer emotional support, recognizing the impact of hair loss on self-esteem. I am a cancer patient myself, so I definitely understand the pain of losing your hair and the energy that it takes to deal with this pain on a daily basis.

I will provide effective follow-up appointments to ensure ongoing comfort, and I will connect my clients with community resources for additional support and understanding.

What do you love about the community you work and live in?

I am presently a resident and I work professionally within the Northwest Houston community. I deeply appreciate this locale for its cohesive familial atmosphere, active community engagement in events, and dedicated efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.

This collective commitment to fostering a secure and harmonious environment is a testament to the strong sense of community that characterizes Northwest Houston.

As a client experiencing hair loss myself, I find that I can empathize effectively with those under my care. This shared and challenging experience allows me to establish connections with patients on both a professional and personal level.

I am dedicated to my mission of assisting clients in reclaiming a sense of normalcy and rediscovering their beauty, thus fostering a positive and supportive environment throughout this journey.
