Amanda Hainke : Cranial Prosthesis Specialist, Highland Park, Illinois

Amanda Hainke began her hairdressing career in Northwest England, where she first fell in love with the craft.

In her late 20s, she made a life-changing decision to move to the Chicagoland area to continue developing her skills and expand her career.

In 2020, she opened The Brit Chick Salon — a full-service salon built with passion and intention. Two years later, she acquired an established wig business, which she has since incorporated into her salon.

Today, Amanda serves clients in Highland Park, Illinois as a licensed Cranial Prosthesis Specialist, offering a rare combination of technical mastery and heartfelt compassion.

What do you enjoy as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist?

For many of Amanda's clients, the hair-loss journey is emotional, sensitive, and deeply personal.

She is honored to support each person who walks through the door of her salon and places their trust in her.

With a blend of technical expertise and genuine empathy, Amanda has built a salon environment where beauty, dignity, and comfort come together.

Clients can expect a safe, private, and judgment-free space — one filled with understanding and authentic connection.

While she is proud to run a successful business, what she cherishes most are the relationships she has built with her clients. There is no greater reward, she says, than a client looking in the mirror and smiling back at themselves.

How do you want to help your clients?

Amanda's extensive salon background gives her a unique advantage in the cranial prosthesis field.

She not only fits and customizes medical-grade wigs — she is able to offer the same level of artistry and professional services to her cranial prosthesis clients that she provides to her traditional full-service salon guests.

Her work goes beyond the prosthesis itself. She offers guidance, education, and compassionate care at every step, helping each client see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Her mission is simple: to help every client claim confidence and comfort, and to feel seen, supported, and beautifully themselves.

Does your salon install medical-grade wigs?

Yes.

Amanda has built strong, trusted partnerships with medical-grade wig suppliers across the United States. There are several paths to explore when creating a custom piece, and every client's individual needs are unique — those personal considerations guide both the process and the timeline.

The goal is always to ensure every step supports the client's comfort, desired style, and total well-being.

What do you love about the community you work and live in?

Amanda finds deep inspiration in working with people from all walks of life.

Being part of a community that comes together to uplift and support one another — in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere — is a genuine source of joy for her.

She also values the opportunity to collaborate with local oncologists and other healthcare providers, which leads to more comprehensive care for her clients. Understanding insurance coverage, she believes, can empower clients with meaningful knowledge about their options and rights.
