Start your medical wig case with Wig Medical
This is the front door. Tell us who you are and what is happening, and Wig Medical will review your insurance benefits, explain the documentation your plan needs, and match you with a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist.
- Takes about three minutes
- No medical records or insurance card needed to start
- A real person reviews every case
- Starting a case does not commit you to anything
Tell us about your situation
Everything here is about routing your case correctly. Wig Medical will follow up by email, and anything sensitive will be collected securely after that.
- We review what your insurance plan may require
- We tell you exactly what to ask your doctor for
- We match you to a specialist near you or a virtual consultation
- We stay with your case through fitting, delivery, and follow-up
Please don't send medical records here
This first step only opens your case and tells us who to connect you with. Do not include insurance card images, member ID numbers, prescriptions, or medical records in this form. If documents are needed, Wig Medical will send you a secure way to share them.
What happens next
No black box. Here is the exact sequence once your case is open.
-
We contact you
A member of the Wig Medical team reaches out by email to confirm your details and answer your first round of questions.
-
We review your benefits
We look at what your plan says about cranial prostheses and explain what it appears to require, including any prescription, letter of medical necessity, or prior authorization.
-
We collect documents securely
If documents are needed, Wig Medical sends you a secure way to share them. Never send medical records or insurance ID numbers through a website form or email.
-
We match you to a specialist
Based on your ZIP code, hair type, hair-loss situation, and whether you want to be seen in person or virtually.
-
You book your consultation
Your specialist walks you through options, measurements, color, texture, and density, and helps you choose the right cranial prosthesis.
Before you start
Do I need a prescription before I start?
No. Start the case first. Most plans do require a prescription from a treating physician before a cranial prosthesis can be billed, and many also want a letter of medical necessity, but Wig Medical will tell you exactly what to request and how to word it. Starting without one costs you nothing.
Does starting a case cost anything?
No. Opening a case, having your benefits reviewed, and being matched with a specialist cost nothing. Costs only enter the conversation when you and your specialist discuss the prosthesis itself, and you will see real numbers before anything is ordered.
Why can't I upload my insurance card here?
Because this page is a marketing website, not a healthcare records system. Insurance cards, member IDs, prescriptions, and medical records are protected health information and belong in a system built for them. Wig Medical will send you a secure way to share those once your case is open.
What if there is no specialist near me?
Virtual consultations are available, and many certified specialists work with clients remotely. Tell us your ZIP code and we will show you the closest in-person options alongside virtual ones so you can choose.
Can someone start a case on my behalf?
Yes. A physician, nurse navigator, social worker, hairstylist, family member, or caregiver can send someone to Wig Medical through the referral page. We then contact the patient directly.
