Wig Medical contacts the person directly, completes intake, reviews their insurance benefits, explains what documentation their plan needs, matches them to a trained Cranial Prosthesis Specialist, and coordinates the consultation, fitting, delivery, and billing. The referrer does not have to manage any of it.

What happens after you refer

You submit the referral
Basic contact details and a short note about the situation. No medical records, no charts, no insurance card images through this website.

Wig Medical contacts the patient
Usually within one business day. We introduce ourselves, explain what we do, and open the case.

Insurance and documentation
We review benefits and tell the patient exactly what to request from their physician, including the correct wording for a cranial prosthesis prescription.

Specialist match and consultation
The patient is matched with a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist and their consultation is booked, in person or virtually.

Fitting, delivery, and follow-up
The prosthesis is fitted and delivered, billing is coordinated where applicable, and the case stays open for adjustments and replacement.
Privacy
Please do not send charts, records, images, or insurance identifiers through this website. Send only what is needed to make contact. Wig Medical will collect anything further directly from the patient through an appropriate secure channel, with their consent.
Referral questions
Do I need the patient's permission to refer them?
Yes. Talk to them first, tell them Wig Medical will be in touch, and refer only with their agreement. If you would rather they reach out themselves, send them straight to the Get Started page instead.
Does it cost the patient anything to be referred?
No. Intake, benefit review, and specialist matching are free. Costs enter the picture only when the patient and their specialist discuss the prosthesis itself.
Will I hear what happened?
Within the limits of patient privacy and the patient's own authorisation, yes. Tell us at referral whether you want status updates and we will set expectations about what can and cannot be shared back to you.
Can I refer more than one person at a time?
Yes. If you are a cancer center, hospital, or practice referring regularly, contact Wig Medical about a standing referral pathway rather than submitting one by one.
