Each one is a single-day, hands-on certification that qualifies you to fit cranial prostheses and bill insurance, and seating is capped — 44 seats remain across all upcoming dates. What a live certification day includes
- A full day of hands-on cranial prosthesis fitting, taught in person by a certified instructor
- Live practice on real units - measuring, fitting, and finishing, not slides
- Insurance and reimbursement training, including the correct HCPCS coding and the documentation an insurer actually needs
- How to write a prescription request and work with a patient's physician
- Pricing, consultation flow, and how to talk to a patient going through medical hair loss
- Your Cranial Prosthesis Specialist certification and a listing in the Wig Medical specialist directory
- Direct access to the instructor and the other specialists in the room - the network starts the day you attend

Live event questions
Do I need a cosmetology license to attend?
No. A cosmetology license is not required to become a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist or to attend a live certification event. Licensing requirements for cutting or styling hair vary by state, so check your own state board if you plan to offer those services alongside fittings.
What is the difference between the live event and the online certification?
The curriculum and the certification are the same. The live event compresses it into one hands-on day where you fit real units with an instructor watching, and you meet the other specialists in the room. The online course lets you start immediately and move at your own pace. Many specialists do the online course first and attend a live event later for the hands-on practice.
Does this certify me to bill insurance?
The training covers how cranial prosthesis reimbursement works, including the correct HCPCS code, the diagnosis codes that typically support a claim, and the documentation an insurer will ask for. Whether a specific insurer pays a specific claim depends on that patient's plan, their diagnosis, and their physician's prescription. We teach you the process; we cannot guarantee any individual claim outcome.
How many seats are in each event?
Seating is capped so every attendee gets hands-on time with the instructor. The live seat count shown on each event card above is real inventory, not a countdown graphic - when it says four seats remain, four seats remain.
What should I bring?
Bring something to take notes with and, if you already work with clients, any questions from real cases you are stuck on. Everything you need for the fitting practice is provided. Full logistics, timing, and parking details are sent by email after you register.
Can I transfer my seat to a different city or date?
Contact us before the event and we will move you to another date if seats are available. Reach out through the contact page and include your order number.
