My name is Jamie Gallagher, and I am the founder and creator behind Loving Strands Custom Medical Wigs.
While I wear many titles—nurse, wife, mother, Mimi—this journey began long before Loving Strands ever had a name.
It began in the quiet places of my own story, in the moments where I faced hair loss head-on and felt the emotional weight that so many women silently carry.
Why Did You Become a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist?
My experience with alopecia started in high school.
At a time when identity feels fragile and confidence is just beginning to form, losing my hair felt like losing a part of myself.
I tried every solution I could find—lotions, vitamins, diets, growth serums, hairpieces—hoping for something that would restore what I felt slipping away.
Each attempt brought a flicker of hope and, too often, a familiar disappointment. Over time, I learned to carry the struggle quietly, but the impact stayed with me.
Years later, life took an unexpected turn when both my daughters and I were diagnosed with lupus.
Watching my daughters walk through hair loss brought every emotion from my own past flooding back. I could see the frustration, the sadness, and the fear reflected in their eyes—feelings I knew all too well.
The desire to “fix it” as a mother is powerful, and in those moments, I felt a deeper calling take shape. I believe God uses our wounds, our journeys, and even our heartbreaks to guide us toward our purpose. For me, that purpose unfolded strand by strand.
What Is Your Experience with Medical-Grade Wigs?
I decided that if I couldn’t stop hair loss, I could transform the experience.
I began learning the art of wig making—studying, practicing, refining, and pouring my heart into every step of the process.
What started as a mission to help my daughters quickly became something larger. I realized that countless women face the same emotional battle, whether from alopecia, lupus, chemotherapy, hormonal changes, or other medical conditions.
I wanted to serve them, support them, and create something that helped them feel whole again.
That’s how Loving Strands was born—not as a business idea, but as a calling rooted in compassion, faith, and the desire to restore confidence and dignity. Every custom wig I create is crafted with intention.
I hand-select human hair that looks natural, feels soft, and can be styled with confidence. I take precise measurements, ask meaningful questions, and learn each client’s story because the wig is not just for her—it is about her.
How Do You Empower the Community?
With every piece I make, I pray over my hands, asking that the work I do bring comfort, strength, and a renewed sense of beauty to the woman who will wear it.
Loving Strands is not simply about hair; it is about healing. It is about the sacred moment when a woman looks in the mirror and sees not loss, but herself again.
Today, Loving Strands serves women from all walks of life—mothers, daughters, survivors, fighters, and anyone seeking a sense of confidence and identity through the journey of hair loss.
My role is not just to craft a wig but to walk alongside each woman with compassion, understanding, and care. I believe every client deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
And I consider it an honor to be a part of their story.
My mission is simple: to use my hands, my heart, and my faith to bring beauty, hope, and restoration to women who need it most. Loving Strands is my way of giving back—one custom wig, one story, one strand at a time.
