Penny Williams: Cranial Prosthesis Specialist Niskayuna, New York

With over 36 years in the beauty industry, I’ve dedicated my life to helping women feel confident, empowered, and seen—especially during vulnerable seasons like hair loss. My journey began as an artist, which naturally evolved into hair design.

Today, I specialize in custom cranial prostheses, luxury wigs, Hair Toppers and hair solutions for women experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions, trauma, or genetics. I partner with a team of third-generation wigmakers who handcraft each cranial prosthesis with premium human hair and expert precision. From there, I customize and refine the piece—sculpting, coloring, and styling it to reflect the woman wearing it.

What do you enjoy as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist?

Being a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist is both an honor and a deeply rewarding experience. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to support individuals during such personal and vulnerable times.

I genuinely enjoy the relationships I build with these incredible women—the trust, connection, and shared strength are so meaningful to me. Each unit is crafted with care, precision, and deep respect for their journey. It’s more than hair—it’s identity, self-esteem, and emotional healing.

How do you want to help your clients?

My mission is to restore more than just hair—I aim to restore identity, confidence, and the feeling of being you again. I work closely with each client to design the hair they once had, always wanted, or now need to feel whole.

From color matching to selecting cut and style, I walk with you through the entire journey. I also teach you how to care for your cranial prosthesis, how to style it at home, and how to feel confident wearing it daily. This isn’t a one-time transaction—it’s an ongoing relationship rooted in trust, support, and care.

Do you also install medical-grade wigs?

I offer custom installation and fitting of glue-less medical-grade human hair cranial prostheses. Each piece is carefully shaped and secured to ensure a natural, comfortable fit—no adhesives required. Every prosthesis is color-customized, cut, and styled to suit your unique preferences and lifestyle.

What do you love about the community you work and live in?

Schenectady and the greater Capital Region are filled with grit, heart, and humanity. There’s a strong sense of resilience here—people look out for one another, support local businesses, and genuinely care about their neighbors.

I feel honored to work in a community where relationships matter and where word-of-mouth still holds real value. There’s a deep-rooted trust and connection that you don’t always find elsewhere. Many of my clients come to me through personal referrals, and over time, they often become dear friends.

I don’t take that lightly. It’s a privilege to walk alongside women in our community, especially those facing medical hair loss or other personal challenges, and help them feel whole, confident, and beautiful again. The Capital Region isn’t just where I work—it’s where I belong, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of a place that uplifts and embraces one another so authentically.

Just design cranial prostheses—I help women recognize themselves again, sometimes after experiencing unimaginable loss, illness, or change. Each piece I create is made with intention, artistry, and deep compassion.

I understand that hair is personal, emotional, and tied to identity. That’s why every client’s journey matters to me. I meet them where they are—with patience, care, and respect—so they feel supported and seen every step of the way.

Whether someone is just beginning their hair loss journey or finding confidence again after a long road, I’m here to walk it with them. It’s an honor to be trusted in these deeply vulnerable moments. My goal is always to help women feel empowered, beautiful, and whole—not just on the outside, but from within.
