Lynnell Robinson is a thyroid cancer survivor, founder of Hair She Is Medical, and certified Cranial Prosthesis Specialist based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her story is not one that begins in a textbook — it begins in the mirror, on the other side of a diagnosis that changed everything.

After founding Hair She Is Extensions in 2018 and spending years helping people feel beautiful and confident, Lynnell received her own thyroid cancer diagnosis.

She experienced firsthand how a medical diagnosis and the hair loss that can accompany it quietly dismantles confidence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being. Rather than stepping back from that experience, she stepped through it — and emerged on the other side with a renewed sense of purpose and a newly expanded practice: Hair She Is Medical. 

Her personal journey did not just inspire this work. It is this work.

What do you enjoy as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist?

What Lynnell enjoys most is making a positive difference in someone's life during one of their most vulnerable moments.

She has lived in that vulnerability herself — she knows what it feels like to look in the mirror and not recognize the person looking back. And she knows the relief, the exhale, the quiet restoration that comes when the right solution is finally found.

She loves educating clients about their options, helping them find the right cranial prosthesis solution for their unique needs, and watching their confidence return — sometimes slowly, sometimes all at once.

Providing comfort, hope, and a renewed sense of self is not just what she does. It is, she says, the most rewarding part of being alive after everything she has been through.

How do you want to help your clients?

Lynnell wants every client to feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their entire journey — from the first question to the final fitting and beyond.

Her goal is to provide personalized hair replacement solutions that restore confidence while making the process as stress-free as possible.

She educates clients thoroughly about their options, assists them in understanding insurance requirements and coverage for cranial prostheses, and creates a safe, compassionate space where every question is welcomed and every decision is informed. As a cancer survivor herself, she approaches every consultation with the understanding that this is about far more than hair — it is about healing, identity, and hope.
